For futher reseach

In case you are interested in learning more about media effects on children, I gathered a few interesting resources below.

1.      Caught in the net

Caught in the net is a Czech documentary movie filmed in 2019. We have already talked about this document in class, but I would like to recommend it again. For those who do not know what this document is about, the main idea is to show how easy it is for children to talk to strangers online. Caught in the net shows us how easily can children be manipulated into having a sexual conversation or sending private pictures, which in most cases results in children being blackmailed to meet up with pedophiles and engage in sexual activity. I encourage you to see this document to understand better how the victims feel, what they are going through because this is a highly educational document that I believe everyone should see.

2.      Jubillee

A discussion between pro-social media and anti-social media teenagers. This discussion is interesting, engaging and hooks you up. It shows different views that teenagers from different backgrounds have, their experience and issues they are or were facing, like bullying or spending too much time online.

How social media is used in a class

A great article explaining, why media should be incorporated into school environment, instead of sticking only to traditional teaching methods to teach kids to be more judicious about content.
